2. Add in something about yourself and the neighborhood
3. Pick 2 or 3 of the reasons below and use them to build out the body of your email
a. Community Concerns: The proposed development will lead to increased traffic congestion, making navigating our streets more difficult and dangerous. Noise pollution from construction and ongoing activity will disrupt the peace and quiet we currently enjoy. Moreover, changes to the landscape and potential environmental impact will degrade our area.
b. Local Opposition: We've come together as a community to voice our opposition to this development. Through neighborhood meetings, online forums, and petitions, we've gathered widespread support to challenge the project. Residents from all walks of life have expressed their concerns, illustrating the depth of opposition within our community.
c. Negative Impact: Beyond the immediate concerns about traffic, noise, and environmental changes, this development will diminish property values in our neighborhood. Many of us have invested our savings into our homes, and any decline in property values will be devastating. Furthermore, changes to the character of our neighborhood will erode the sense of community that makes this area so special.
d. Intent of Urban Village: Urban villages are intended to foster vibrant communities with a mix of residential and commercial spaces. However, the proposed development doesn't align with this vision. While it may bring residential units, it fails to provide the necessary commercial infrastructure to support our growing community. This discrepancy is a key point of contention for us.
e. Lack of Neighborhood Community Commercial Zoning: Our neighborhood is zoned for Neighborhood community commercial use, which means any development should contribute to the commercial vitality of the area. However, the proposed project doesn't meet this requirement. We're concerned that without adequate commercial amenities, our neighborhood will struggle to thrive and attract the businesses that could benefit our community.
f. Crime Prevention: One of our greatest worries is the potential for increased crime associated with the proposed development. Large-scale construction and residential projects can attract transient populations and increase the risk of vandalism, theft, and other criminal activities. We're committed to maintaining the safety and security of our neighborhood, and we see the proposed development as a threat to that goal.
g. Scale and Parking Concerns: The proposed height of the building is completely out-of-scale with our community's character and will have a profound impact on our skyline. Additionally, the proposed level of parking is wholly inadequate to accommodate the influx of residents and visitors, inevitably leading to overflow parking in our neighborhoods. This not only poses safety concerns but also degrades the overall feel and sense of community. The sight of cars filling our streets will undoubtedly detract from the aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood and could potentially lower property values.
